Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present in each moment, aware of our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgment. On our celebration of Independence Day, we can use mindfulness to appreciate our freedoms: the freedom to breathe deeply, enjoy the company of loved ones, savor the taste of a summer barbecue, and marvel at the fireworks lighting up the night sky.
