There's nothing new about mindfulness. Nothing exotic or different or strange. It involves being aware of ourselves, our bodies, our feelings, our thoughts and being able to control them better with some coaching and education.
Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., a well-known practitioner and author developed specific techniques that are taught worldwide today to help people increase their mindfulness (awareness). These practices give you control over self to reduce stress and improve health and well-being. Many of these techniques and practices are taught through Mindfulness techniques and Meditation practices.
Clinical studies have documented both physical and mental health benefits of mindfulness and meditation. These include positive outcomes such as healthy aging, stress and anxiety reduction, weight management, calming tools for children with special needs, and other human issues.
