One of the most powerful practices you can put into place is mindful visualization. This is not just about visualizing. When you are mindful about your visualization practice you are adding a key element to the process - feeling.
Here is a good way to practice ... with the weather. Find some quite space and close your eyes. Breathe in and out. Breathe in deeply and exhale deeply - releasing any tension or emotion that is not wanted right now. After a minute or so visualize the sun - feel the sun's warmth cascading down upon you. Take a minute or two to really feel the sun and the warmth. Now add a cloud and get into detail. Imagine the cloud's color and shape. Use your mind to visualize the most amazing cloud. Now visualize and feel the cloud opening and gently raining down on you. Feel the damp, warm air and the wet rain touching your skin and sliding downward, toward the ground. Practice visualizing with things that are familiar to you like weather, the sound of the ocean, a waterfall, etc.
After you have mastered visualizing the things that are familiar - add in something that you are a little uncertain about but you want to add this to your life. For instance - you might like additional responsibility at work or possibly a new position. Do you know what this new position looks like? Visualize it; feel it. Visualize yourself in the position that you want. How does it feel? What does it look like for you? Create all the special details and feelings in your mind - sights, sounds, smells, colors and think of how you would feel while experiencing this new position or promotion.
Accordingly to Jack Canfield - using visualization techniques to focus on your goals and desires yields four very important benefits.
It activates your creative subconscious which will start generating creative ideas to achieve your goal.
It programs your brain to more readily perceive and recognize the resources you will need to achieve your dreams.
It activates the law of attraction, thereby drawing into your life the people, resources, and circumstances you will need to achieve your goals.
It builds your internal motivation to take the necessary actions to achieve your dreams.
If you do this consistently, you will get to know what you want and you will understand that mindfully visualizing gets you end results.
