Meditation in motion

To open yourself up for the day, try a stretch called "apple picking."

  • With legs hip-width apart, reach arms straight up.

  • Then, bending the left knee slightly and hiking up the left hip, stretch your right arm as if reaching for a "just out of tough" apple.

  • Perform the same motion with your right leg and left arm.

  • Repeat these movements three times on each side.

You can also keep those arms stretched high and gently twist side to side - keeping the core of your body straight.

It's good to stretch throughout the day, and it's actually a mindful, moving meditation since you are bringing your attention to a specific action.
